TK Riddle

Tad Lucas: The Laughing Cowgirl © TK Riddle

This beautiful painting of Tad Lucas was created by my sister. For a decade, Tad was known as the world’s best female rodeo performer. In her career, she collected all of the major trophies and titles available to rodeo cowgirls, though she achieved her greatest fame as a fearless and innovative trick rider. Tad, the youngest of 24 children, made her professional debut in 1917. She moved to Fort Worth soon after and began touring with Wild West shows.

The Heads of State

Wide Spread Panic © The Heads of State

Jason Kernevich and Dustin Summers (The Heads of State) have been working together in one form or another since 2002. After graduating Tyler School of Art’s militant design program, Kernevich and Summers began making silkscreen posters for Philadelphia’s independent music scene. The graphic and conceptual simplicity of their collaborations made an immediate impact on the burgeoning poster revival in North America. Local clients and small projects paved the way to international acclaim and assignments from the likes of R.E.M., Wilco, and The New York Times. They now run a full-service design and illustration operation, applying their graphic elegance and visual wit to a wide range of clients and projects. They’ve won awards from Communication Arts, American Illustration, Print Magazine, Graphis, and the Society of Illustrators. View more of their Posters

Jennifer Maestre

“To make the pencil sculptures, I take hundreds of pencils, cut them into 1-inch sections, drill a hole in each section (to turn them into beads), sharpen them all and sew them together. The beading technique I rely on most is peyote stitch”. Jennifer Maestre from her Artist Statement
