Fans of Howard Devoto and Buzzcocks, Magazine, Luxuria, welcome. I've been a fan of Howard's work and that of his bandmates who inspired me to become a concert photographer and set up www.shotfrombothsides.co.uk and my love of punk/post punk. No money is made from this blog nor is it linked officially to Howard or any of the related bands or individual members. This is just one man's obsession in blog form, nothing more. If you don't like any of it. Well, that's your loss, not mine.

Buzzcocks - Spiral Scratch EP "40th Anniversary" 29/1/2017
On this day, 29 January 1977 - Buzzocks released their DIY Debut Record, a 4 track EP called "Spiral Scratch" on New Hormones Label.
1. Breakdown
2. Times Up
3. Boredom
4. Friends of Mine
For me personally this was the defining Punk Rock Record of the genre. Punk Rock Do It Yourself, literally.
Nothing better before, during or after. This record put Manchester and Punk Rock on the world stage.
Thank You Howard Devoto, Pete Shelley, Steve Diggle, John Maher, Martin Hannett and Phil Hampson for the greatest Punk Rock Record of all time.

Buzzcocks - The Complete History 40
Back in 1995 I bought a great book, "Buzzcocks - The Complete History" (See image above)written by its author Tony McGartland.
The book was as definitive a history of Buzzcocks that had ever been published up to that point and really was a wealth of information on the band.
Well it's been a while since that book was published and a few things have happened with the band since then, so who better to bring us all up to date than, guess who? Yes, Tony McGartland the author of the first book has only gone and done it again, and boy has he updated us on Buzzcocks progression since he first published his original.
Buzzcocks-The Complete History 40, Release Date May 2017 and available to pre-order here.
My order is in and I can't wait to see/read it.
